What Does Jesus Do?
THE POINT: As followers (disciples) of Jesus, we should know what specific parts of His nature we’re trying to imitate.
THE GLOWING SHEPHERD: Most people have a stylized picture of Jesus in their minds.
Study the nature of the Lord Jesus by doing a RED LETTER SCAN of the Gospels.
JESUS COMMANDS
“Go… Do not fear… Come to me… Get up… Give to Caesar… Throw your net… Be still…
JESUS TEACHES/EXPLAINS
“Blessed are those… The kingdom is like…”
JESUS CORRECTS/REBUKES
“Get behind me Satan… You whitewashed tombs… You are in error because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God…”
JESUS EXPRESSES FRUSTRATION
“Are you still so dull… Oh unbelieving generation, how long must I stay with you… O Jerusalem…”
WDJD?
Matthew 4:23-25 (NIV)
Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.
Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.
