At Westgate Chapel, one of our core beliefs is that everyone has a calling from God on their lives.  For the vast majority of people, that calling is to be expressed outside the employment of the Church.  CEO's, politicians, nurses, and contstruction workers are every bit as much "called" as are pastors.  Biblical evidence for that is in

Exodus 31:1-6 (NIV)
Then the LORD said to Moses,
"See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts--
to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,
to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.
Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given skill to all the craftsmen to make everything I have commanded you: 

God said that Bezalel was filled with the Spirit of God for workmanship.

Many churches and pastors make people feel like their calling is holier than that of "lay people" (A term we don't use at our church.)  At Westgate Chapel, being called to the Marketplace is honored, encouraged, and supported.  You are a minster of God wherever you work. 

Our body life is structured for busy Northern Virginians.  We have no committees.  Each member typically attends Sunday Worship and their cell group.  Cell groups sometimes meet in the workplace or in other times that are convenient for career people.

Finally, our founding pastor continues to own and manage a successful for-profit business with several employees.  This makes a statement that every disciple of Jesus can be both and excellent worker and a minister.
